THE ROLE OF NOTARIES/PPAT WHO ACT AS INTERMEDIARIES IN RELATED TO THE SALE AND PURCHASE OF LAND (Case Study of Decision Number. 98 PK/Pid.Sus/2009) Notaries as public officials are authorized to make authentic deeds and other authorities in carrying out their duties. It is undeniable that along with the development of the times, notaries have an increasingly important role in every legal relationship in community life which includes various business relationships, activities in the banking sector, land, social activities and so on. The problems in this study such as What are the philosophical, sociological, and legal bases for the obligations of the Notary/PPAT position to maintain dignity with the responsibility to respect the importance of trust. How are the Legal Consequences for Notaries/PPAT as public officials and have a dual role as intermediaries in relation to the sale and purchase of land. The study used Normative research. The results of this study were Philosophically the position of Notary/PPAT is a noble, honorable and beneficial Public position, because the position of notary is attached to the rights and responsibilities stated in the notary law number 2 of 2014. Sociologically the position of notary/PPAT has an important role in every legal relationship of community life, and legally in carrying out the position of notary/PPAT Legal Aspects in the Notary Law Number 2 of 2014 and government regulations in 2016. As a result of the law, notaries/PPAT as public officials who play a dual role acting as intermediaries related to land sales and purchases have violated the provisions of the Notary Law, the Oath of Office and the Notary/PPAT code of ethics.
