This study aims to analyze the meaning of motivation contained in the lyrics of the song Wind of Change by Scorpions using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach. This song was chosen because it not only conveys emotional and historical messages, but also describes the spirit of change and hope for a better future after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with data analysis techniques in the form of identifying signs (signifiers and signifieds) in the song lyrics. The results of the study show that the lyrics of Wind of Change are full of motivational symbols that invite listeners to rise, dare to change, and see the future with optimism. This song also reflects the social and political changes in the world that can raise awareness and enthusiasm in individuals. The conclusion of this study is that Wind of Change is not only a work of musical art, but also an effective motivational communication medium in conveying messages of change and hope.
