EFEKTIVITAS PENAMBAHAN KOMBINASI ACIDIFIER DAN PROBIOTIK DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PERSENTASE PANJANG USUS AYAM BROILER
Broiler chickens are a type of chicken that is often specifically raised by breeders to produce meat in a relatively short period. To accelerate growth and increase meat production, acidifiers can be administered in combination with probiotics. Citric acid is able to maintain the pH of the digestive tract and stimulate enzyme activity. This study aimed to determine the effect of using acidifiers combined with probiotics on the percentage of intestinal length in broiler chickens. This research was conducted from January to March 2025 at the experimental cage of the Animal Science Study Program, Department of Animal Science Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research method used was an experimental method using 100 broiler chickens of the Ross strain Day Old Chick phase (DOC) and raised for 6 weeks. This study consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications. The parameters observed in this study were the percentage of small intestine length (duodenum, jejunum, ileum, and cecum). The treatments given were P0 (control treatment), P1 (Tetracycline antibiotic 0.8% + Orange meal 0.8%), P2 (Tetracycline antibiotic 0.8% + Orange meal 1.2%), P3 (Probiotic 0.8% + Orange meal 0.8%), P4 (Probiotic 0.8% + Orange meal 1.2%). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA variance analysis, and if it showed significant differences between treatments, it was followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the administration combination beetwen acidifier and probiotic in the feed did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of duodenum and ileum length of broiler chickens. However, the results showed that the administration combination beetwen acidifier and probiotic in the feed had a significant effect (P
