PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN PUSAT TERAPI AUTIS DI PALEMBANG
The existing limitations of autism therapy facilities often fail to fully consider the specific needs of children with autism. Therefore, a sensory design approach is applied in the design of this autism therapy center to create an environment that supports therapy through spatial arrangements based on sensory sensitivity. The spatial zoning is divided into high stimulus zones for hyposensitive children and low stimulus zones for hypersensitive children, complemented by a transition zone and an escape space for children experiencing tantrums. These zoning differences influence the design of lighting, noise/acoustics, and vegetation surrounding the building. With a design tailored to the sensory needs of autistic children, this therapy center is expected to enhance focus and comfort throughout the therapy process.
