UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIDEPRESAN EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN AKASIA (acacia mangim wild) TERHADAP MENCIT (mus musculus)
Acacia leaves (Acacia Mangium Wild) contain secondary metabolite compounds of flavonoids in the form of quercetin which have the potential as antidepressants. This study aims to determine the effect of giving ethanol extract of acacia leaves and its effective dose on antidepressant activity. This study used 30 test animals which were divided into 6 groups, namely, the normal group (1 NaCMC without acute stress induction), the negative group (1 NaCMC induced by acute stress), the positive group (fluoxetine 20 mg/kgBB), and treatment groups I, II, and III (ethanol extract of acacia leaves with doses of 100 mg/kgBB, 200 mg/kgBW and 400 mg/kgBB, respectively). Antidepressant testing was carried out on each treatment for 35 days. Measurement of forced swimming test, traction test, tail suspension test, and loomotor parameters were carried out on days -1, 7 and 14, while body weight measurements were carried out on days -0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and measurements of the amount of sucrose consumed. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the ethanol extract of acacia leaves had antidepressant activity in mice induced by acute stress, compared to negative controls (p
