This research examines the news framing of the controversy surrounding Bahlil Lahadalia's doctoral degree on the news portal Mediaindonesia.com. Using a descriptive qualitative approach within a critical paradigm, this study analyzes how Mediaindonesia.com constructs meaning and ideology related to the issue of Bahlil's doctoral degree, and how this constructed reality is presented to the public. Grounded in the critical paradigm, this research delves deeper into the influence of power within the discourse produced by the media. The method employed is Robert N. Entman's framing analysis, which encompasses four key elements: defining the problem, diagnosing the causes, making moral judgments, and recommending treatments. The object of analysis consists of 14 news articles published by the Mediaindonesia.com portal from October 16, 2024, to November 17, 2024. Data were collected through meticulous documentation and observation techniques. The findings indicate that Mediaindonesia.com tended to frame the controversy over Bahlil's doctoral degree in a positive light, predominantly highlighting its administrative legality and Bahlil's personal achievements. This framing has the potential to obscure criticism and maintain a positive image of the public figure in the eyes of the public.
