RISIKO DAN REFLEKSIVITAS MASYARAKAT TERKAIT LIMBAH AMONIA PT PUPUK SRIWIDJAJA (PUSRI) DI KELURAHAN 1 ILIR KECAMATAN ILIR TIMUR II KOTA PALEMBANG
This study aims to analyze the risks and reflexivity of the community related to ammonia waste from PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) in Kelurahan 1 Ilir using Ulrich Beck's concept of risk society. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study strategy. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that there are forms of risk and community reflexivity in dealing with exposure to ammonia waste from industry. First, the risks faced by the community include physical-ecological risks such as health problems, safety threats, and environmental pollution. Social risks include social isolation, economic losses, environmental conflicts, and land expropriation. Mental risks include anxiety and trauma. Second, the reflexivity practiced by the community to address these risks includes awareness, such as awareness of health impacts, awareness of environmental changes, and awareness of the right to a healthy environment. Self-directed actions include avoiding direct exposure, managing health, and expressing personal concerns. Collective efforts through stakeholder social support include environmental education and outreach, providing basic necessities, implementing the Kampung Sehati program, environmental greening and revitalization programs, and establishing direct reporting or complaint channels.
