This research focuses on the social risks caused by environmental pollution affecting the community living near PT. Vista Agung Kencana Farm 1 in Segayam Village, Gelumbang Subdistrict, Muara Enim Regency. The existence of a poultry farming industry within a residential area has caused environmental pollution, which may lead to new risks for the social life of the surrounding community. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of environmental pollution and to analyze the social risks caused by this pollution for the local residents living near PT. Vista Agung Kencana Farm 1. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research is based on Ulrich Beck’s theory of social risk. Data were collected from seven main informants, one key informant, and one supporting informant through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that: (1) the community residing near PT. Vista Agung Kencana Farm 1 is exposed to air pollution, characterized by unpleasant odors and dust contaminated air and (2) this air pollution has led to various social risks impacting the well being of the local residents.
