EFEKTIVITAS LASER PERIPHERAL IRIDOTOMY TERHADAP ANGLE OPENING DISTANCE, TRABECULAR IRIS SPACE AREA DAN TRABECULAR IRIS ANGLE PADA SUDUT TERTUTUP PRIMER
Introduction: Laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) is the first-line standard treatment for primary angle-closure disease. This study aims to compare AOD, TIA and TISA values before and after LPI. Methode: This study is a randomized clinical trial without a comparison to determine the changes in anterior opening distance, trabecular iris space area and trabecular iris angle before and after laser peripheral iridotomy in primary angle closure patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. The sample in this study were all primary angle closure patients and were planned to undergo LPI who met the inclusion criteria. Patients will undergo SD AS-OCT imaging examination before LPI, 1 week after LPI and 2 weeks after LPI. The paired t-test was used to analyze the differences in parameters before and after Laser Peripheral Iridotomy (LPI). Results: This study involved 30 samples of primary angle closure patients who underwent LPI. There were changes in the values of TIA 500, TIA 750, AOD 500, AOD 750, TISA 500 and TISA 750 temporal before and after 1 week and 2 weeks of laser peripheral iridotomy (p < 0.05). There were changes in the values of TIA 500, TIA 750, AOD 500, AOD 750, TISA 500 and TISA 750 nasal before and after 1 week and 2 weeks of laser peripheral iridotomy (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Laser peripheral iridotomy is effective in increasing anterior opening distance, trabecular iris space area and trabecular iris angle in primary angle closure patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang.
