Background: Cytomegalovirus retinitis (CMVR) is the most common opportunistic ocular infection and a leading cause of blindness related to HIV- AIDS. CMVR frequently occurs in patients with low CD4 counts, particularly below 50 cellsμL. Epidemiological studies on the correlation between CD4 levels and CMVR incidence remain limited, especially in Indonesia. Objective: This study aims to analyze the accuracy of CD4 levels in predicting CMVR in HIVAIDS patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Methods: This diagnostic study employed a prospective case-control approach. The sample consisted of 51 HIV-AIDS patients examined at the Ophthalmology Clinic, VCT Clinic, Internal Medicine Clinic, and Inpatient Unit of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from January 2024 to December 2024.
