KULTUR Botryococcus braunii DENGAN SALINITAS BERBEDA DALAM MEDIA LIMBAH CAIR BUDIDAYA IKAN GABUS
Botryococcus braunii is a microalga with significant potential for producing various bioactive compounds, including lipids, proteins, and polysaccharides. B. braunii is a single-celled microalga that is classified in the green algae group and is commonly found in lakes, ponds, brackish waters, and even the sea. The utilization of B. braunii microalgae has still been limited due to insufficient nutrient content in the media. An attempt to address the issue was the use of striped snakehead wastewater. Microalgae growth is influenced not only by fertilizer-related factors but also by salinity. Salinity is one of the factors that affects the growth of microalgae, including B. braunii, as environmental salinity conditions directly influence microalgae growth processes and can lead to lipid accumulation. This study aimed to determine the best salinity for achieving maximum cell density, specific growth rate, and lipid percentage of B. braunii in striped snakehead wastewater. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications:
