This study aims to develop digital-based learning media to enhance the effectiveness of history learning at SMA Negeri 12 Palembang. Initial observations revealed that history learning in this school is still dominated by the use of textbooks and lecture methods, causing students to struggle in understanding the material. As a solution, the researcher developed a Digital Handout based on Android for the topic of the Proclamation of Independence in Palembang.This study utilized the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Field trial results indicated that the Digital Handout was effective in improving students' learning outcomes. This was evidenced by a comparison of the average pretest score of 45.48 and the posttest score of 97.09, with a learning improvement of 51.61%. The N-gain value of 0.94 indicated a high level of improvement.The findings of this study demonstrate that the Android-based Digital Handout for local history material is effective in enhancing students' understanding and making the learning process more engaging and varied.
