HUBUNGAN KEDALAMAN AIR TANAH DAN KADAR AIR TANAH PADA TANAMAN PADI (Orzya sativa) DI DESA MULIA SARI, KECAMATAN TANJUNG LAGO
This research aims to analyze the relationship between water table depth and soil water content in tidal lowlands rice fields (Oryza sativa) located in Mulia Sari Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The study was conducted from February to March 2025 using a field observation method with 20 systematically distributed sample points. Parameters observed included soil moisture content, bulk density, total pore space, permeability, and groundwater depth. All samples were analyzed at the Soil Physics and Conservation Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The results indicated that soil moisture content ranged from 54.77% to 87.38%, with most samples falling into the "very high" category. Groundwater depth ranged from 40 to 75 cm, classified as shallow to moderately deep. Simple linear regression analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between groundwater depth and soil moisture content, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.478 and an R-squared (R²) value of 0.229. This means that as groundwater depth increases, soil moisture tends to decrease. However, since the R² value is relatively low, other factors also influence soil moisture variability. This study provides important recommendations for managing groundwater depth and soil water content to enhance rice productivity in tidal swamp ecosystems.
