OPTIMASI KINERJA POMPA ARTIFICIAL LIFT HYDRAULIC PUMPING UNIT (HPU) PADA SUMUR MT-3 DI PETROCHINA INTERNATIONAL JABUNG LTD, TANJUNG JABUNG FIELD
The MT-3 well in the Tanjung Jabung Field, Jambi Province, is part of an old oil field that has experienced a decrease in reservoir pressure, so that it is no longer able to produce naturally. To maintain the production rate, the Hydraulic Pumping Unit (HPU) artificial lifting method is used. At the beginning of operation, with the parameters of 1 ½ inch Plunger Diameter, 5 SPM Pump Speed, and 120 inch Stroke Length, this well recorded a production of 120 BFPD with 71% Pump Displacement, 1667 psi reservoir pressure, 1380 psi Pwf, and 9.2% water cut. This research was conducted using field study methods and technical calculations based on historical production data, pump design parameters, and pump performance simulations. The analysis includes evaluation of volumetric efficiency, pump capacity, and comparison between actual production and theoretical production capacity. Based on the calculations, the theoretical maximum capacity of well production (Qmax) is ±423 BFPD, indicating that there is still suboptimal production potential. HPU pump design optimization was carried out by changing the following parameters: Plunger Diameter 1¾ inch, Pump Speed 12 SPM Stroke Length 89 inch After the implementation of the new design, Volumetric efficiency increased to 81% Production increased significantly to 307 BFPD. These results indicate that a pump design that is more in accordance with the actual conditions of the well can significantly improve artificial lift performance and bring production closer to the maximum capacity of the well.
