KUALITAS FISIK SILASE LIMBAH KUBIS (Brassica oleracea) DAN LIMBAH SAWI (Brassica pekinensis L) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN PERSENTASE LIMBAH WORTEL YANG BERBEDA
Vegetable waste from the market, such as cabbage, mustard greens, and carrots, has potential as animal feed ingredients. Utilisation of cabbage, mustard, and carrot waste can use silage technology. This study aims to analyse the physical quality of silage of cabbage waste (Brassica oleracea) and mustard waste (Brassica pekinensis L) with the addition of different percentages of carrot waste. The research was conducted at the Department of Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from March to April 2025. This research was used completely randomized design (CRD) including four treatments and five replications. P0 = 500 grams of cabbage waste + 500 grams of mustard waste, P1 = P0 + 15% carrot, P2 = P0 + 20% carrot, P3 = P0 + 25% carrot. The observed variables were color, aroma, texture, temperature, and silage success rate. The data obtained from 25 panelists were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that silage made from cabbage and mustard waste with the addition of carrot waste produced similar physical qualities, namely a slightly orange-brown color, a slightly acidic aroma, a slightly firm and slightly moist texture, with an average score of 3. The average harvesting temperature ranged from 30 to 30.4°C, and the percentage of fungal contamination was less than 10%.
