ANALISIS PENGARUH GEOMETRI PELEDAKAN TERHADAP FRAGMENTASI HASIL PELEDAKAN DAN PRODUKTIVITAS EXCAVATOR CAT 320, DI PT SEMEN BATURAJA TBK, SUMATERA SELATAN
PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk is a state-owned enterprise operating in the cement industry with two main mining areas: limestone and clay quarries. To enhance the efficiency and productivity of its mining operations, this study analyzes the effect of blasting geometry on rock fragmentation quality and digging time. The research employs an experimental method with an intact comparison design, involving direct field observation and a comparison between the actual blasting geometry and designs based on ICI Explosive and C. J. Konya theories. Primary data were collected through field observations and interviews with heavy equipment operators and mining supervisors, while secondary data were obtained from company documents. The results indicate that the blasting geometry designed according to ICI Explosive theory—featuring a burden of 2. 70 m, Spacing of 3. 30 m, Stemming of 1. 70 m, and a powder factor of 0. 242 kg/m³—significantly reduced the percentage of oversized boulders and decreased digging time from 8 seconds to 7. 5 seconds. This led to an increase in loader productivity from 174. 923 BCM/hour to 222. 299 BCM/hour. The study confirms that optimizing blasting geometry has a substantial impact on improving operational efficiency in mining activities.
