Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, and it remains a major public health problem in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the correlation between mosquito breeding eradication behavior (PSN) and water container characteristics with the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the East Prabumulih Public Health Center, Prabumulih City, in 2024. This research employed a case-control design with purposive sampling, involving 41 cases and 41 controls. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods with Chi-square tests. The results showed that 56.1% of the case group had poor knowledge about PSN, 58.5% had a negative attitude, and 58.5% showed poor preventive practices. In the case group, 83.8% of water containers were made of ceramic or plastic, 54.7% were dark-colored, and 81.2% were not covered. There was a significant correlation between PSN knowledge and DHF incidence (p=0.000; OR=7.454), PSN attitude and DHF incidence (p=0.007; OR=3.850), PSN practices and DHF incidence (p=0.026; OR=3.041), container material and DHF incidence (p=0.034; OR=9.697), container color and DHF incidence (p=0.000; OR=6.163), and the presence of container covers and DHF incidence (p=0,029; OR=3,440). Low levels of knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding PSN, as well as the widespread use of risky water container materials and colors, and uncovered containers, contribute to the high incidence of DHF in the East Prabumulih Health Center. Continuous health education from health workers is essential to increase community awareness and routine implementation of PSN in order to reduce DHF transmission.
