EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN TANAMAN KOPI LIBERIKA (Coffea Liberica Var.) DI LAHAN GAMBUT DESA PERIGI KECAMATAN PANGKALAN LAMPAM KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR
Indonesia is the fourth largest coffee producer and consumer in the world. Liberica coffee is known as a typical peat coffee because it has the ability to adapt well to peat soil compared to other types of coffee (arabica and robusta) which cannot grow on peat land. This study aims to determine the physical and chemical properties of the soil and evaluate the suitability level of peat land in Perigi Village for cultivating Liberica coffee plants. Peat land often has unique physical and chemical characteristics that can be a challenge for agricultural development. This evaluation may involve analysis of land parameters such as soil physical properties and soil chemical properties (such as pH, organic C, cation exchange capacity, nitrogen, available P2O5). The study was conducted using a detailed survey method. Sampling using the stratified random sampling method, as many as nine points with two replications, then matching with the growing conditions of liberica coffee plants. The suitability class of liberica coffee land is based on Djijenbun 2014. The results of the study showed that the rainfall parameters were classified as quite suitable (S2). In terms of nutrient retention quality (nr) and nutrient availability (na), it shows that the land suitability class for liberica coffee plants (Coffea Liberica Var.) has criteria for unsuitable land suitability class (N) for C-organic and pH values, and a very suitable land suitability class (S1) for N-total, P-available and cation exchange capacity (CEC) values.
