PEMELIHARAAN BENIH IKAN TAMBAKAN (HELOSTOMA TEMMINCKII) DENGAN FREKUENSI PEMBERIAN PAKAN YANG BERBEDA
The kissing gourami fish is one of the local commodities with high market value and great potential for development as a cultivated fish. One of the applications of feed management is regulating the feeding frequency. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal feeding frequency for kissing gourami fish fry that supports growth, survival rate, feed efficiency, and water quality in an optimal rearing environment. The study was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments with three replications: P1: Feeding twice a day (06:00 a.m. and 18:00 p.m.), P2: Feeding three times a day (06:00 a.m., 12:00 a.m., and 18:00 p.m.), P3: Feeding four times a day (06:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 14:00 p.m. and 18:00 p.m.), P4: Feeding five times a day (06:00 a.m., 09:00 a.m., 12:00 a.m., 15:00 p.m., and 18:00 p.m.). The kissing gourami fish were reared for 30 days. The results showed that differences in feeding frequency significantly affected absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, and feed efficiency. The best feeding frequency was four times a day, which resulted in an absolute length growth of 2.33 cm, an absolute weight growth of 1.02 g, and a feed efficiency of 28.43%. However, variations in feeding frequency did not significantly affect the survival rate or water quality during the rearing period of kissing gourami fish fry.
