YUKILES KAGOYA. Study Of The Availability Of Agricultural Tools And Machines In Cinta Marga Village, Teluk Gelam District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency South Sumatera (Supervised by ENDO ARGO KUNCORO). This study aims to analyze the availability of agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan) in Cinta Marga Village, Teluk Gelam District, which has 248 ha of rice fields. The majority of land in this village is swampy land, with a traditional agricultural system that still relies on the transplanting method. The availability of agricultural tools in this village is limited to several stages of production, such as land preparation which only has 6 two-wheeled tractors and no four-wheeled tractors. At the planting stage, farmers still rely on manual methods because there are no transplanters. At the plant maintenance stage, water pumps are available, but the number is still lacking. At the harvest stage, farmers do not yet have a combine harvester, so harvesting is done manually. In addition, at the post-harvest stage, rice threshers are limited, and dryers or hullers are not yet available. The gap between the available tools and farmers' needs causes inefficiency in the agricultural production process. The high cost of renting agricultural tools is also an obstacle for farmers to access the tools they need. This study recommends that the government provide assistance or subsidies for agricultural machinery, as well as introduce a rental system at an affordable cost to increase agricultural efficiency and productivity in this village, which can ultimately improve farmer welfare and the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
