Subsidence is one of the environmental problems that occurs slowly, especially in coal post-mining reclamation areas where the soil structure is not yet stable. As a result, the further impact of subsidence emphasizes the importance of a monitoring system that is able to detect changes in land surface periodically and accurately. One method that is currently widely used with the development of remote sensing technology in monitoring subsidence is Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR). InSAR is a technique that utilizes the phase difference of radar waves from two or more satellite images taken at different times to detect vertical deformation of the land surface using Sentinel-1 images. Tanjung Enim, especially the reclamation area of ID 4 Year 2016 PT Bukit Asam Tbk, was chosen as the research location because it has undergone revegetation process and has the potential for subsidence. This research was conducted in April-May 2025. This research aims to measure the accuracy of InSAR subsidence values using Sentinel-1 imagery spatially and temporally from 2016-2022. With comparison data in the form of elevation contour data from the company for 2016 and 2022. Determination of validation points was carried out using Purposive Sampling method as many as 20 points based on areas that show indications of subsidence in InSAR processing results. Data analysis was conducted by comparing the results of InSAR image processing to field contour data through regression accuracy tests and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) calculations. The accuracy test results show that this value is still quite representative for the medium scale and can describe the subsidence that occurs. Thus, the use of Sentinel-1-based InSAR method is proven effective to detect subsidence spatially and temporally in monitoring post-mining reclamation land.
