This study aims to analyze the influence of students’ perceptions of the teaching profession on their interest in joining the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Program, specifically among students of the Economic Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Sriwijaya University, class of 2021. This research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a sample of 63 students selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. Instrument validity was tested using the product moment correlation formula, while reliability was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing. The results show a significant influence between students' perceptions of the teaching profession and their interest in participating in the PPG Program. This is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.6224, categorized as strong, and a t-test result of tcount = 6.208 ≥ ttable = 1.670, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The coefficient of determination shows that perceptions of the teaching profession contribute 38.74% to the interest in joining the PPG Program, while the remaining 61.26% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Future researchers are advised to use a larger sample size or include the entire population to obtain more representative and generalizable results.
