PERANCANGAN SISTEM MONITORING KECEPATAN ALIRAN DAN KETINGGIAN AIR SUNGAI BERBASIS IOT
Real-time river monitoring is crucial for increasing awareness of changes in river surface height and flow velocity, as well as helping reduce the risk of disasters such as flooding. One of the main challenges is heavy rainfall, which can cause sudden water rises. This research aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based river flow and water level monitoring system. The system uses optocoupler sensors and rotary encoders to measure water flow velocity using the pulse timing method, which calculates the time difference between digital pulses from the rotation of the waterwheel. The obtained period value is used to calculate the velocity. Two BMP280 sensors are used to read air pressure, which is then converted into water level using a linear regression method. An ESP32 microcontroller serves as a control center that sends data to the Blynk application. Test results show that the system is able to detect water velocity and height with an error below 10%, making it suitable for use as a river monitoring tool and flood early warning system.
