REPRESENTASI OLIGARKI PADA ANIMASI DINNER FOR FEW
The research entitled “Representation of Oligarchy in the animation Dinner for Few” aim to analyze the representation of oligarchy as portrayed in the film Dinner for Few. The research employs a qualitative method with a semiotic theoretical approach. Specifically, Roland Barthes’ semiotics is used to uncover the layers of denotation, connotation, and myth, which are then interpreted in relation to Jeffrey Winters’ theory of oligarchy. Data were collected by closesly observing and documenting scenes from the film that directly relate to the research focus. The findings of this study reveal a representation of oligarchy through scenes that depict structural inequality as deeply entrenched and resistant to change. The analysis further exposes how the film deconstruct myths of power and critiques human nature, suggesting that recurring structures of domination are rooted in inherent human greed.
