Pharmaceutical services are an important aspect of health facilities that directly affect patient satisfaction, one such service is prescription services. Patients often complain about waiting time for prescription services because it impacts their experience obtaining health services. The objective of this study evaluates how waiting time towards prescription services affects outpatient satisfaction in the waiting room of the Sematang Borang Community Health Center in Palembang. This study used a prospective cross-sectional design, obtaining data from 449 prescriptions (54 concoction (12%) and 395 non-concoction (88%)) and patient satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed that the average waiting time was 14 minutes for non-concoction prescriptions and 20 minutes for concoction prescriptions, which align with the Ministry of Health's standards (15-30 minutes for non-concoction and 30-60 minutes for concoction). Patient satisfaction levels, based on eight variables, were measured with an average score of 75,69% for non-concoctions and 77,97% for concoctions. Pearson and Spearman correlation analyses revealed a significant relationship between waiting time and patient satisfaction (Pearson p-value = 0,002; Spearman p-value = 0,001). The faster the waiting time for prescription collection, the higher the outpatient satisfaction level in the waiting room of the Sematang Borang Health Center in Palembang.
