This study aims to evaluate the growth and production of several chili plant accessions, and to determine chili accessions that have good tolerance to 85 percent shade conditions. The research was conducted in the farmland of Jalan Tamyiz, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra (3.204.89°S, 104.65.982°T) from May to October 2024. This study used a Randomized Group Design (RGD) consisting of five chili plant accessions as treatments, namely Jenio curly chili, Siostavi curly chili, Burung cayenne pepper, Manik cayenne pepper, Rinjani cayenne pepper, which were planted in 3 blocks and each block contained 5 polybags of each plant accession, so that the number of plants was 75 polybags. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance, descriptively through pictures, graphs and photos. The parameters observed included growth and production parameters, namely plant height, flowering age, harvest age, flower and fruit position, color of young and ripe fruit, number of fruits per harvest, fruit weight per harvest, total number of fruits per plant, total fruit weight per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit shape and seed production. The results showed that chili plants in 85 percent shade conditions had good growth and production but were less optimal due to lack of light on the plants. CK. Jenio, CK. Siostavi and CR. Manik had almost the same average growth, compared to CR. Rinjani and CR. Burung which were lower. CK Jenio had the highest plant height averaging 63.56 cm. The total number of fruits was the highest in CR Manik with 66 fruits and a weight of 45 grams. CK. Siostavi had greater length and diameter. The results showed that the Manik cayenne pepper variety, the Siostavi curly pepper variety, and the Jenio curly pepper variety had advantages in terms of growth and production parameters compared to other pepper varieties tested under 85 percent shade conditions. Key words: Chili, Curly, Cayenne, Shade
