AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SEMBUNG RAMBAT (Mikania micrantha Kunth.) TERHADAP BAKTERI Salmonella typhi DAN SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ethanol extract from Sembung Rambat leaves (Mikania micrantha) against Salmonella typhi bacteria. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The antibacterial activity test was conducted using the disk diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer) with extract concentrations of 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, and 12.5% (g/v), and the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) test used the liquid dilution method with concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5% (g/v). The data was analyzed using the One Way ANOVA test, and continued with the Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference (HSD). The observed parameter was the area of inhibition zone of Salmonella typhi bacteria growth. The results of the study showed that ethanol extract of Sembung Rambat leaves had significant antibacterial activity against the growth of Salmonella typhi, with the most effective concentration being 12.5%, which produced an average inhibition zone area of 45.62 mm². The conclusion of this study is that ethanol extract from Sembung Rambat leaves is capable of inhibiting the growth of Salmonella typhi. The results of this study are contributed in the form of LKPD in the biology subject in Senior High School Class X stage E related to the material on the diversity of living things and their roles.
