MEDIA PORNOGRAFI, PERAN ORANG TUA DAN PERILAKU SEKSUAL REMAJA
Sexual behavior refers to any behavior triggered by sexual desire between two people of the opposite sex or the same sex. For adolescents, access to pornography can pose threats such as pornography addiction, which can lead to risky sexual behavior. This study aims to describe exposure to pornographic media, the role of parents, and adolescent sexual behavior. This research was conducted by analyzing secondary data in the form of in-depth interview matrices and focus group discussion (FGD) matrices from a thesis entitled “Environmental Factors Affecting Sexual Behavior in Junior High School Adolescents in Palembang City in 2018” using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The data transcript obtained consists of an in-depth interview matrix conducted on 12 parents and 4 teachers as expert key informants and a focus group discussion (FGD) matrix conducted on 12 teenagers as key informants. The data matrix of the research results was then analyzed using thematic analysis technique and tested the validity of the data matrix of the research results using the triangulation method of sources, methods, and data. The research findings indicate that adolescents aged 12–15 years have engaged in various forms of risky sexual behavior, such as holding hands, kissing, touching their partner's sensitive body parts, and masturbating. Such behaviors were also found to occur after adolescents were exposed to pornographic content. Parents still view issues related to sexuality as taboo and feel awkward discussing them, while in terms of media usage supervision, parents choose to give their children full trust. This study concludes that exposure to pornographic media and the inadequate role of parents in providing reproductive health information and media supervision increase the risk of risky sexual behavior among adolescents. Therefore, community-based interventions such as the Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK-R) and active parental involvement in open communication with their children can serve as preventive measures against risky sexual behavior among adolescents.
