INDEKS GONADOSOMATIK DAN HEPATOSOMATIK Chitala hypselonotus ASAL SUNGAI KELEKAR, OGAN ILIR, SUMATERA SELATAN
Chitala hypselonotus is one of the economic important freshwater fish species in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the gonadosomatic index (GSI) and hepatosomatic index (HSI) of C. hypselonotus from Kelekar River, South Sumatra. The research was conducted at the Basic Laboratory of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, University Sriwijaya, from December 2024 to January 2025. This research method is a survey method, sampling using purposive random sampling method. Samples collected were transported to the laboratory for observation. A total of 13 C. hypselonotus (TL= 30-72.99 cm, BW= 200-2.699 g) were observed. The regression test results showed that the largest GSI value (54%) was in the interval of 0.04-0.05% while the least (15%) were in the interval 0.02-0.03. The largest HSI value (62%) was in interval 0.3-0.64%, the few (38%) in the interval 0.65-0.99%. The results of the linear regression test showed that the body weight- ovary weight relationship was 99.18% (R2=0.9918), total length- ovary weight 95.51% (R2=0.9551), body weight-liver weight 98.19% (R2=0.9819), and total length-liver weight 95.67% (R2=0.9567). Ovary weight and liver weight were strongly correlated with total length and body weight of C. hypselonotus. This study is the first to analyze the relationship of gonad weight and liver weight to total length and body weight of C. hypselonotus. Key words: Body weight- ovary weight relationship, total length- ovary weight relationship, body weight-liver weight relationship, total length-liver weight relationship.
