HUBUNGAN ANTARA KONSENTRASI DAN DAYA SAING DALAM INDUSTRI BAN DAN VULKANISIR (ISIC 2211) DI INDONESIA
The manufacturing industry has a significant influence on Indonesia's economic growth, particularly in the tire and retreading sector, which hold considerable market potential. However, changes in production cost patterns related to efficiency can affect the level of industry concentration, leading to a non-competitive market structure. This forms the main objective of this study, which aims to examine the level of efficiency and the relationship between concentration and competitiveness. The research variables include raw material costs, labor costs, rental costs, and energy costs, with secondary time series data over a 30-year period, from 1993 to 2023. The analytical technique employs a simple linear regression function with the ordinary least square (OLS) method and the calculation of the Herfindhal Index (HI). The results show that the tire and retreading industry remains inefficient, with an average annual growth rate of 4.93 percent over 30-year period. Moreover, The relationship between concentration and competitiveness is significantly negative (-9.4031), indicating that as efficiency increases, concentration level tends to decreases. In other words, competitiveness, which focuses on efficiency and industry, reflect a strong relationship in portraying the structure and performance of an industry
