RUMAH LIMAS DI MUSEUM NEGERI SUMATERA SELATAN TINJAUAN SEJARAH DAN UPAYA PELESTARIAN BUDAYA
This research is entitled "Limas House at the Balaputera Dewa Museum: A Historical Review and Cultural Preservation Efforts." The Limas House is a traditional house typical of South Sumatra, possessing not only architectural value but also historical and philosophical significance, reflecting the culture of the Palembang people. This research aims to examine the history of the Limas House, specifically the one currently in the collection of the Balaputera Dewa State Museum in South Sumatra, and to analyze efforts to preserve its local culture. The method used is an anthropological approach, with data collection techniques including literature review, observation, and documentation. The results show that the Limas House has undergone various phases of displacement due to political and development dynamics before finally being reconstructed and becoming part of the museum's permanent collection. The presence of the Limas House at the Museum plays a crucial role as a medium for cultural education, preserving traditional values, and strengthening local identity. Through physical conservation and reinterpretation of its philosophical values, the Limas House serves not only as a symbol of cultural heritage but also as a means of transmitting culture to current and future generations.
