EVALUASI PRODUKSI MINYAK DAN GAS DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMP (ESP) PADA SUMUR FN-6 DI PETROCHINA INTERNATIONAL JABUNG LTD.
This research aims to evaluate the performance of oil and gas production at well FN-06, which operates using an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) in the working area of PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. Well FN-06 uses an ESP pump type QN30/48 Hz at a depth of 6765 ft and produces a production rate of 420 BFPD with a pump efficiency of only 25%. This low efficiency is caused by the pump operating outside the recommended operating range, resulting in downthrust and the pump getting stuck, which impacts the cessation of the well's production. The evaluation was conducted by analyzing the optimum production rate and bottomhole flowing pressure, as well as comparing the actual pump performance against optimum capacity. The evaluation results indicate that the installed pump operates sub-optimally and is at high risk of failure due to downthrust at a production rate of 2,300 BFPD. To avoid operational failure, it is recommended to use a pump with with a smaller capacity that suits the conditions and characteristics of the well. This study emphasizes the importance of the proper selection and design of ESP to ensure the continuity and efficiency of oil and gas production sustainably.
