The planning and design of the South Sumatra Performing Arts Theater Building in Palembang aims to create a space that supports performances, education, training, and the development of theater performing arts. This theater will also serve as a platform for collaboration among communities, with the goal of increasing public interest in performing arts, particularly theater, in South Sumatra and even across Sumatra, through active activities. The design includes spaces for script learning and production, followed by training studios for performing arts, such as theater, music, and dance, as well as a main theater building to host produced theater performances. The active involvement of community collaboration in performing arts will be supported by a Creative Space Program, which aims to foster the growth of theater arts. Additionally, the planning includes supporting activities such as galleries, seminars, workshops, and a cafeteria. With the design of this performing arts theater in South Sumatra, it is hoped to become a potential hub for the development of theater arts, enhancing cultural values and public interest in the art form.
