KOMPOSISI FRAKSI SERAT (NDF DAN ADF) DAN KECERNAAN SEMU METODE KALKULASI DARI SILASE TMR RUMPUT PAKCHONG -POLLARD DENGAN INOKULAN EM-4
ABEL VIVALDI, Fiber Fraction Composition (NDF and ADF) and Calculated Method Apparent Digestiness of Pakchong Grass-Pollard TMR silage with EM-4 inoculant (Supervised by ARFAN ABRAR) The Ruminant farming is inseparable from the factor of quality feed, which plays a very important role in the success of farming. One alternative feed is Total Mixed Ration (TMR) silage, which is affordable and easy to make. Pakchong grass is a potential forage in TMR due to its high yield and adequate protein content. However, its crude fiber content is relatively high, which can impair digestibility and energy efficiency. Energy sources such as pollard can be added to address this issue, as they contain soluble carbohydrates that support fermentation and reduce crude fiber content. An important component in assessing feed quality is the crude fiber fraction content, such as NDF and ADF, which affects dry matter digestibility. Calculation methods are used to estimate this digestibility level, which are simple mathematical approaches that do not require laboratory equipment. This method can help efficiently estimate dry matter digestibility, making it useful for farmers in formulating optimal rations. The objective of this study was to investigate the composition of fiber fractions (NDF, ADF) and the estimation of apparent digestibility using the calculation method for TMR silage made from Pakchong grass and pollard with EM-4 inoculant. The study was conducted from October to November 2024 at the Animal Nutrition and Feed Laboratory, Animal Science Program, Department of Animal Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya. The study used a T-test method with 2 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments consisted of PO (Pakchong Grass Silage) and P1 (Pakchong Grass-Pollard TMR Silage). The parameters observed were Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), and Dry Matter Digestibility calculated using the calculation method. The results of the study on the parameters of Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), and Dry Matter Digestibility, calculated using the calculation method, showed significantly different results (P
