HUBUNGAN SELF EFFICACY DENGAN PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK SISWA KELAS XI SMAN 4 KOTA PAGAR ALAM
The phenomenon of academic procrastination is increasingly common among high school students, especially during late adolescence, which is a crucial phase in the formation of self identity and academic maturity. This study was conducted to explore the relationship between self efficacy of individual beliefs in the ability to complete tasks with academic procrastination in class XI students at SMA Negeri 4 Pagar Alam City. self efficacy is thought to have an important role in reducing the tendency to postpone tasks, because individuals who believe in their abilities tend to be more resilient in the face of academic pressure. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method and involved 184 randomly selected respondents. The instruments used are self efficacy scale and academic procrastination scale which have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the analysis showed a significant negative relationship between self efficacy and academic procrastination, meaning that the higher the students' self efficacy, the lower their tendency to postpone academic tasks. This finding confirms the importance of strengthening self efficacy in school guidance and counseling programs to help students manage time and tasks more effectively, and improve the quality of learning outcomes.
