ANALISIS PEMILIHAN MODA DAN PENINGKATAN LAYANAN ANGKUTAN UMUM PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS BENGKULU
Transportation problems in Bengkulu City, especially in the Bengkulu University area, are influenced by the high dominance of private vehicles which cause congestion, limited parking space, and increased risk of accidents. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the choice of transportation modes by Bengkulu University students and formulate efforts to improve public transportation services as an alternative mode that is feasible to use. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of students, create a mode selection model and factors that influence movement. Based on the results of the analysis, women (65%) are aged 17-24 years, with the largest age being 20 years (42%). Most students have motorbikes (76%), but 51% of them do not have a driver's license. Pocket money of more than IDR 500,000 is owned by 42% of respondents, with the dominant profession of parents as farmers. These results indicate that the provision of public transportation services such as buses with affordable costs and efficient travel time can be an attractive alternative mode for Bengkulu University students.
