Palembang songket is part of Indonesia's intangible cultural heritage, carrying strong aesthetic, symbolic, and historical values for the people of South Sumatra. However, as modernization accelerates, its presence has been gradually marginalized—especially due to the limited availability of cultural tourism spaces that can reintroduce this tradition to younger generations. The design of the Palembang Songket Gallery aims to function as both an appreciation and educational space, showcasing the process of weaving, the history of songket, the meaning behind its various motifs, and providing an interactive exhibition experience. The architectural approach applies contextual and contemporary principles by adapting the traditional rumah panggung Linmas Palembang, reinterpreted into a modern transformation that still respects local cultural values and responds to the tropical climate. The gallery includes spaces such as a weaving workshop, digital weaving area, souvenir center, exhibition halls, interactive educational spaces, shopping areas, a plaza and amphitheater, thread-literacy zones, a café and restaurant, a prayer room, and a riverside dock. The final design demonstrates that architecture grounded in local wisdom can serve as a medium for cultural preservation, while also providing a new contextual identity along the Musi River—particularly in the Gudang Boenjit area on Jl. Ki Gede Ing Suro, known as the center of Palembang songket—and bridging traditional values with modern-day needs. Keywords : Palembang songket, cultural gallery, contextual architecture, Linmas stilt house, cultural preservation, educational tourism, Musi River
