PREFERENSI PETANI PADI TERHADAP PENYEDIA JASA ALSINTAN TRAKTOR RODA EMPAT (TR-4) DI DESA MULYASARI KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
This study investigates rice farmers' preferences for renting four-wheel tractors (TR-4) in Mulyasari Village, Banyuasin Regency. Using a survey method, data were collected from 64 farmers selected via proportional stratified random sampling. The Multi-Attribute Fishbein model was used to assess preferences based on service attributes such as price, availability, location, duration, and service quality. Additionally, binary logistic regression identified factors influencing farmers' choices between individual providers and UPJA (Agricultural Machinery Service Business Units), while Spearman's rank correlation tested the relationship between preferences and decisions. Findings show that service quality (score: 3.59) and work duration (score: 3.27) are top priorities for farmers. Logistic regression results indicate that rental experience (OR = 2.561), land area (OR = 0.333), and kinship ties (OR = 9.520) significantly affect provider choice, whereas income, education, and distance do not. A weak positive correlation (ρ = 0.381) was found between preferences and decisions. The study suggests that improving service quality and efficiency is essential, and recommends government support through training programs for both UPJA and individual providers to promote agricultural modernization.
