The city of Palembang, with a majority Muslim population, accounts for 91% of its total 1.53 million residents. In recent years, public interest in religious activities, Islamic education, and da’wah has continued to increase, as reflected in the growth of majelis taklim (Islamic study groups), religious gatherings, and a 15% rise in the number of santri (Islamic boarding school students) over the past five years. This condition indicates the need for an integrated facility to support the community’s Islamic activities. The design of this Islamic Center aims to accommodate worship, da’wah, non-formal education, and social functions within a single complex. The design approach applies Islamic architecture by integrating the core values of the Qur’an and Hadith into architectural elements. The resulting design consists of a mosque as the central place of worship and management, an educational building for reading and Islamic learning activities, and a multipurpose hall for community empowerment and social events. This Islamic Center is expected to serve as a functional and architecturally representative hub for spiritual and communal development.
