IMPLEMENTASI STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI PEJABAT PENGELOLA INFORMASI DAN DOKUMENTASI (PPID) DINAS KOMUNIKASI DAN INFORMATIKA KOTA PALEMBANG DALAM MEMBERIKAN PELAYANAN INFORMASI PUBLIK
This study aims to analyze the implementation of communication strategies by the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) at the Communication and Informatics Office of Palembang City in delivering public information services. Communication strategy serves as a key element in promoting effective and transparent information disclosure, as mandated by Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure (UU KIP). This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and document study. The main theory used in this study is the public relations strategy model by Cutlip, Center, and Broom, which includes four stages: defining the problem, planning and programming, taking action and communicating, and evaluating the program. The findings indicate that the PPID has not yet fully optimized the implementation of communication strategies in its services. Several challenges remain, including the public’s limited understanding of their right to information, suboptimal use of digital media, and inadequate evaluation mechanisms that involve public participation. Therefore, improving service quality, utilizing information technology effectively, and increasing public education are essential aspects that need to be strengthened to achieve public information services that are participatory, efficient, and transparent.
