PRA RANCANGAN PABRIK PEMBUATAN DIBUTYL PHTHALATE DENGAN METODE ESTERIFIKASI DENGAN KAPASITAS PABRIK 12.000 TON/TAHUN
Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) plant with capacity 12,000 tons per year is planned to begin operation in 2030 in Gresik Industrial Area, Karangturi, Gresik District, East Java, Indonesia. The plant will operate continuously for 24 hours per day over 330 days per year. DBP production refers to patent CN 220834174 U, using an esterification process with n-butanol and phthalic anhydride as raw materials. The reaction occurs in a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) at 100°C and 1 atm with 3 wt% H₂SO₄ catalyst, producing DBP with 99% purity. Raw materials will be supplied by PT Petro OXO Nusantara and PT Petrowidada. The company will operate as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) with a Line and Staff (Functional) organizational structure, employing 108 workers. Based on economic analysis, the plant is considered feasible, with a Total Capital Investment (TCI) is US$ 50,446,372.14, Total Production Cost (TPC) US$ 36,023,135.79, and Annual Sales Revenue is in US$ 62,952,363.26. The project yields an Annual Cash Flow (ACF) is US$ 26,929,227.47, a Rate of Return on Investment (ROR) is 45.37%, a Discounted Cash Flow-ROR (DCFROR) is 54.00%, a Break-Even Point (BEP) is in 33.671%, and a Pay Out Time (POT) is in 1.85 years, with a service life of 11 years. Based on these parameters, the establishment of the Dibutyl Phthalate Plant is technically and economically feasible and represents a strategic step toward national chemical industry independence. Keywords: Dibutyl Phthalate, Esterification, Continous Stirred Tank Reactor, Limited Liability Company (LLC).
