PENGARUH MENDENGARKAN TERAPI MUROTTAL SURAH AL-MULK TERHADAP TEKANAN DARAH PASIEN HIPERTENSI
Uncontrolled blood pressure can increase the risk of complications and death in hypertensive patients. Hypertension management relies not only on pharmacological therapy but also requires non-pharmacological approaches. One complementary therapy that is increasingly being developed is murottal therapy, which involves listening to recitations of the Quran. particularly Surah Al-Mulk, known as a calming surah and often practiced at night. This study aims to determine the effect of listening to Al-Mulk recitation therapy on blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design and a pretest-posttest control group design approach. A sample of 34 inpatients with hypertension was selected using a purposive sampling technique, then divided into an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group was given murottal therapy of Surah Al-Mulk with Hijaz tones for 13 minutes at night for 3 consecutive times, while the control group only had their blood pressure measured without intervention. The results of the paired t-test showed a significant decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group (p-value 0.000). Meanwhile, in the control group, only diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly (p- value 0.005). An independent t-test showed a significant difference in post-test systolic blood pressure between the two groups (p-value 0.000), but not in diastolic blood pressure (p-value = 0.051). This means that Surah Al-Mulk recitation therapy is effective in lowering systolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Researchers recommend Surah Al-Mulk recitation therapy as a non-pharmacological complementary therapy to help lower blood pressure, especially in hospitalized hypertensive patients.
