PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN PUSAT SENI RUPA TRADISIONAL PALEMBANG
The development of the times has changed the direction of Palembang's traditional fine arts and shifted the cultural values found in people's lives. The lack of traditional art facilities in Palembang, causes people to tend to abandon aspects of traditional art and culture. Therefore, the Palembang Traditional Fine Arts Center is designed as a place that aims to nurture and maintain the sustainability of traditional arts and culture. The building is located on the banks of the Musi River and consists of three masses that have an important role in developing and preserving the traditional fine arts of Palembang. The building masses adopt the shape of a traditional pyramid house with the use of carvings, roof shapes, and distinctive stage shapes. The Musi River is the main orientation of this building, so the building is designed to adapt to the surrounding conditions. Located on the banks of the river, this building has a concept to be able to utilize natural ventilation and lighting as well as possible. There is also a floating dock as a means of access to the building via the Musi River. With this Fine Arts Center, it is hoped that it can open the first step in preserving and developing traditional Palembang fine arts.
