KOROSI DIBAWAH INSULASI PADA BAJA A36 DI PWHT PADA MEDIA AIR LAUT
Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) remains a persistent challenge across many industrial sectors, posing a significant threat to the integrity and longevity of equipment. Post-welding heat treatment processes are usually used to remove residual stresses and improve the mechanical properties of the welded structure. However, the interaction of A36 steel with seawater, when combined with the insulation, can accelerate corrosion, compromising the structural integrity and safety of critical components. Despite existing preventive measures and standards, the complex interactions between factors contributing to CUI in A36 steel under these specific conditions require further in-depth investigation. This research will study the understanding of corrosion mechanisms, identify the main influencing factors, and propose effective mitigation strategies to overcome the problem of corrosion in insulation during PWHT in seawater environments. By gaining insight into the processes and underlying vulnerabilities, this research aims to contribute valuable knowledge towards the development of robust corrosion prevention measures, ensuring the reliability and longevity of A36 steel structures under similar operational conditions.
