PENGARUH KOMPETENSI DAN PROMOSI JABATAN TERHADAP KINERJA PERSONEL KEPOLISIAN DI DIREKTORAT SAMAPTA POLDA SUMSEL DI KOTA PALEMBANG
This study aims to determine the influence of competence and job promotion on the performance of personnel at the Directorate of Samapta, South Sumatra Regional Police in Palembang. The research method used is quantitative with an associative approach. The sampling technique was conducted using accidental sampling, involving 80 personnel as respondents. Primary data were collected through the distribution of closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results show that partially, competence has a positive and significant effect on personnel performance, while job promotion does not have a significant effect. However, simultaneously, competence and job promotion have a positive and significant effect on performance. These findings indicate that competence is the main factor driving performance improvement, while job promotion still contributes in the broader organizational context, even though it is not dominant on an individual basis. Since the sampling technique used is non-probabilistic, the findings of this study are contextual and cannot be fully generalized to the entire population.
