HUBUNGAN ANTARA EMPATI DENGAN PEMAAFAN PADA REMAJA BROKEN HOME
This study aims to examine the relationship between empathy and forgiveness amng adolescents from broken home families. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a relationship between empathy and forgiveness. This research employed a quantitative method involving 201 adolescents aged 18-22 years who come frome broken home families, wheter due to divorce or family dysfunction, with a duration ranging from 2 to 10 years The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instruments used were an empathy scale and a forgiveness scale, both developed based on theoritical aspects from Baron & Bryne (2005) and McCullough et al. (1998). Data analysis in this study was conducted using Pearson’s product moment correlation technique. The results of the analysis showed a significant positive relationship between empathy and forgiveness (r = 0,177 ; p < 0,05). This indicates that the higher the empathy, the higher the level of forgiveness, and vice versa. Therefore, the hypothesis of this study is accepted.
