PROFIL KEMAMPUAN CLIMATE CHANGE LITERACY PADA PESERTA DIDIK SMP DI KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
This study aims to analyze the profile of climate change literacy among junior high school students in Ogan Ilir Regency, with consideration of school accreditation levels A, B, and C. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 184 ninth-grade students. The research instrument comprised 40 items covering three indicators: knowledge, attitude, and competence, with Cronbach's alpha values of 0.548, 0.900, and 0.511, respectively. The KMO value of 0.863, SRMR of 0.072, and GFI of 0.990 indicate that the instrument has an acceptable model fit and is effective in measuring climate change literacy. Overall, the results show that climate change literacy among junior high school students in Ogan Ilir is at a moderate level, with 46% of students falling into this category. Among the three indicators, the highest percentage was found in the attitude indicator at 48%, suggesting that most students have demonstrated good awareness and concern regarding climate change issues. The study also reveals that a higher school accreditation level does not necessarily guarantee a higher level of literacy. This is evidenced by SMP C (accredited C), which recorded the highest percentage of students in the high category overall. These findings imply the need to strengthen environmentally-based curricula and implement contextual learning approaches to address climate change issues more effectively.
