Goats are small ruminants that also play a role in meeting the needs of animal protein for the community. People's demand for meat is getting higher from year to year. However, there is a decline in the goat population in Indonesia, it is necessary to improve the performance of productivity in goats which refers to growth so that meat production is met by utilizing technology in the form of hormone injection to assist the fattening process in etawa peranakan goat livestock. One hormone that can stimulate growth is a steroid hormone in the form of androgen hormones. Factors that affect the performance of livestock after injection of androgen hormones is an increase in muscle growth stimulated by androgen hormones with increased protein synthesis. This study aims to determine "The Effect of Androgen Hormone on Body Weight Gain, Chest Circumference, and Scrotal Circumference in Etawa Crossbreed Goats." in the goat shed of Pak Handoko Sindang Sari village, Lempuing District, Ogan Komering Ilir regency from October to December 2024. This study will use two groups of goats, three goats as P0 control group and three goats as P1 group who were given androgen hormone injection treatment. This study uses a descriptive method to find the average weight gain, chest circumference and scrotum circumference of etawa breed goats. The results showed that the average body weight gain of P0 group goats was 0.008 Kg/day, while P1 Group goats had a body weight gain of 0.035 Kg / day. The increase in chest circumference of P0 Group goats was 0.011 Cm/day, while P1 Group goats were 0.022 Cm / day. The increase in scrotal circumference of P0 Group goats was 0.314 Cm/day, while P1 Group goats was 0.056 Cm / day. Administration of androgen hormones can increase weight gain and increase in chest circumference significantly compared with control treatment. For the increase in scrotal circumference of goats P0 group increased scrotal circumference while goats P1 group scrotal circumference did not increase and tend to be smaller.
