This study aims to determine what types of butterflies are found and how the diversity, dominance and evenness of butterfly species are found in the Sriwijaya University area. The research period began in April 2024 - March 2025. This research used explorative survey methods and exploration methods. Determination of sampling locations using the stratified random sampling method and direct observation at 5 sampling station points. The results of the research and data analysis found 576 individual butterflies consisting of 27 species and included in 4 families, namely Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Periade, and Hesperiidae. The types are Acraea violae, J. Atletes, J. Orithya, E. Mulciber, Hypolimnas bolina, Neptis hylas, Danaus chrysippus, ypthima pandocus, ideopsis juventa, lexias canescens, J. Hedonia, symbrenthia hypselis, G. Doson, Graphium agamemnon, Papilio polytes, G.Sarpedon, papilo demolius, papilo demolian, troides amphyus, Appias libythea, Leptosia nina, Catopsilia scylla, Catopsilia pomona, E. Hecabe, E. Blanda, E. Blanda, Pelopidas mathias, oriens gola. The results of the calculation of the diversity, dominance and evenness index of butterflies in the Sriwijaya University area have different values at each station, namely at station 1 the diversity index was obtained at 2.9794 with a dominance value of 0.660 and a species evenness of 0.9040. At station 2 the diversity index was obtained at 3.0050 with a dominance value of 0.0635 and a species evenness value of 0.9118. At station 3 the diversity index was obtained at 3.0950 with a dominance value of 0.0585 and a species evenness of 0.9391. At station 4 the diversity index was obtained at 2.8304 with a dominance value of 0.0770 and a species evenness value of 0.8588. At station 5 the diversity index was obtained at 2.3640 with a dominance value of 0.1142 and a species evenness value of 0.8588. The conclusion of this study found 27 types of butterflies with a diversity index at each station included in the moderate criteria with a dominance index and evenness index that were quite even or almost even.
