PERAN UNICEF DALAM MENGKAMPANYEKAN ISU HAK ANAK MELALUI SERIAL ANIMASI UPIN IPIN
UNICEF's campaign in advocating for children's rights through the use of popular media, particularly the animated series Upin & Ipin. This collaboration is employed as an effective communication strategy to deliver educational messages to children and parents within the context of child protection in Malaysia. Based on Clive Archer's theory of the role of international organizations, UNICEF acts as a key international actor influencing public awareness and policy regarding issues such as child exploitation, abuse, neglect, and child marriage. Empirical data highlight major gaps in the child protection system, making media-based campaigns that resonate with daily life increasingly vital. The Upin & Ipin series not only conveys moral and social values but also strengthens UNICEF's key messages about children’s rights to protection, education, and a safe environment. This research aims to analyze how UNICEF's campaign is embodied in the animation's narrative and its impact on children's understanding of their rights.
